Retreat Reward #2: Time To Breathe
As women, we all are going, going, going. There’s no time to rest. There’s no time to relax. There’s no time to think. We wear so many hats, we can’t keep up…
Face it. We’re all tired. We’re all stressed. None of us have enough time in the day.
We want to change that, even if we can only change it for one weekend.
September 14-16 is just that weekend.
At this year’s retreat, you’ll notice things will move much slower than they have at past retreats.
We haven’t hired an outside speaker. That’s not because we couldn’t afford one or couldn’t find someone to hire. It was a decision – a purposeful decision – to remove the pressure of feeling like we have to fit it all in. We are going to take our time and think and talk about God. We’re going to have time to rest and sit in rocking chairs and unwind. We’re going to have time to talk to each other and get to know each other better.
Instead of having a speaker for the weekend, our own April Teamer will be delivering a devotional on Friday night. Her key verse will be Isaiah 40:31. She’s already planning what she wants to say, and we know she will be great!
Besides April’s devotional, we’ll have other opportunities to talk about and study God’s word together. I’ll explain those to you soon. No, there won’t be a designated speaker, but there will be plenty of Bible. Be sure to bring yours and get ready to dive into the word. We are going to renew, relax and refresh together, and it’s going to be great!
Now is the time to make plans to attend the retreat. If you don’t mark it on your calendar now and commit to going, those days will end up being filled with other activities. There is no payment required when you complete registration, so go ahead and sign up! Give yourself the gift of some time. You deserve it, and you’ll be so glad you did. I know we’ll be glad to see you there!
Retreat Reward #1: Fellowship
Have you been in the congregation for years and just don’t fit in? Come. Sit by me.
Do you just feel tired and burnt out? Come. Be refreshed with your sisters.
Are you depressed? Come. Let Jesus lift you.
Is your best friend not able to make it? Come. Meet someone new.
Are you nervous around crowds? Come. We'll be gentle.
Do you feel like you're not a part of the inside jokes? Come. We'll make new jokes. The bottom line is, you should come. If you don't come, you're missing a great opportunity to get to know your sisters in Christ. You're missing a great opportunity to relax and enjoy some down time. You're missing a great opportunity to be still and know God. So, come. Don't overthink it. Just come!
